1. What is the difference between locking an account and deactivating it?


There are two ways to disable access to Gradelink for staff members: Locking their account and Deactivating their account.

If a staff member's account has locked or deactivated, they will not be able to login to Gradelink.

However, deactivated staff accounts will be hidden in many areas of Gradelink, such as when you try to assign a Teacher to a Class or when you try to generate Administrator reports. Therefore, if you know that a Staff member will only temporarily gone from the school, Gradelink highly recommends Locking their account instead of Deactivating it.
